The Department of Chemistry at Tennessee Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track position in radiochemistry starting August 1, 2015. A Ph.D. in radiochemistry or a closely related area (inorganic or analytical chemistry preferred) with research interests that include the use of radioisotopes is required. Post-doctoral research and prior teaching experience is preferred. The applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students that complements the existing research efforts of the department. The Department offers an ACS certified B.S. in Chemistry, a M. S. degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences with a chemistry concentration. The Department maintains a Tennessee Radioactive Material License which allows the use of a wide variety of beta/gamma-emitting isotopes, as well as smaller quantities of certain alpha emitters for teaching and research.
