Post-doc Position – University of Missouri

The University of Missouri’s Research Reactor is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with training in radio-analytical or analytical chemistry. Candidates with training in epidemiology or nutrition with an interest in analytical chemistry will also be considered. The candidate will design neutron activation analysis and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry experiments to measure trace elements in biological specimens for epidemiology studies. Trace-element epidemiology studies seek to understand the associations among trace-element nutrients in diet, toxic trace-element exposure, and the incidence, progression, morbidity, and mortality of disease. The candidate is also expected to participate in independent research, publication, and participation in grant writing. Knowledge of neutron activation analysis or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry is desired. The initial appointment will be for a one-year period, with possibility for renewal based on performance and availability of funding. To apply, please email your CV to Dr. John Brockman (brockmanjd AT missouri.edu) by October 6th, 2014.

The University of Missouri is an AA/EEO employer.
