The Ingenuity Program is focused on cultivating a diverse, talented next-generation workforce in the field of geologic nuclear waste disposal. We are entering the second year of this program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy. The main pillar of this program is to connect with student applicants from underrepresented backgrounds in an effort to engage them in the future of this industry. Ultimately, our goal is to raise awareness and excitement about careers in this field.
Included below is a website link that provides more information on the program, describes the six interesting internship projects that we are offering in Summer 2023, and also includes a link for students to apply.
Given the nature of the internship projects (ranging from experimental work to simulations to machine learning), we are interested in students (graduate and undergraduate) from the earth, environmental and/or geosciences, as well as computational sciences, nuclear engineering, and other related disciplines.
