The NCNR is recruiting for 4 Nuclear Engineering Technician, ZT-0802-III, positions. These positions have known promotion potential to the ZT-IV level. The candidates will work in the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) Reactor Operations and Engineering (ROE) Group as a Nuclear Engineering Technician-Reactor Operator. Duties include:
- Installation, use, troubleshooting, and repair of neutron facility instruments.
- Quality assurance and configuration management of mechanical equipment.
- Testing and calibration of reactor instrumentation.
- Assist in specialized maintenance activities.
- Assist in specialized or non-routine refueling operations.
- Participate fully in emergency response drills.
- Eligible to apply for licensure by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
